Looks like we’ve got our first official casting of an Inhuman for ABC’s series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it comes in the form of Luke Mitchell, known mostly for his role in The Tomorrow People.

The report on Marvel.com describes the character as “a charismatic Inhuman named Lincoln, who has an important role to play in Skye understanding the true extent of her transformation.”

If you remember, Skye transformed into a new reality in the mid-season finale, discovering that her real name was Daisy and then undergoing Terrigenesis to become the hero known as “Quake” in the comics. The sudden power to cause earthquakes would freak anyone out, so it sounds like “Lincoln” will be her mentor through this whole process.

In speaking about the role, Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb, said, “With the revelations surrounding Skye’s true identity in the Winter Finale, we knew we’d be introducing more Inhumans as our story progressed. The charming energy Luke brings to the role will make him a character to watch as we continue our season.”

There’s no real information on who exactly Lincoln is. There are no characters in Marvel Comics that are named Lincoln, so it’d difficult to tell if he’ll be a new creation for the show or that they’re pulling another hidden identity stunt. All we know for now is that he’s an Inhuman.

Can you hear that sound? That’s the sound of angels because we, my geeky friends, have arrived in what must be Heaven. We’re talking about putting INHUMANS on a major network at primetime. Not only one or two, but multiple. We’ll probably have some good ones and some bad ones and we’ll start laying some semblance of groundwork for the upcoming Inhumans movie.

Truly, t’is a glorious time for all us nerds.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on March 3rd at 9:00 p.m. EST on ABC.
