The great hope of the DC Cinematic Universe, Suicide Squad, opens next week. Following on the heels of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Warner Bros. needs Suicide Squad to be more than a box office success — after all, Dawn of Justice was a huge hit at the international box office. No, Warner Bros. needs Suicide Squad to win over all the fans that they upset and ostracized with Dawn of Justice.
As such, we’ve heard rumors that Warner Bros brought in a certain member of the Justice League during reshoots to help liven up the mood of the film and flesh out some more background for one of the bad guys in Task Force X, but it’s just been rumors. Until now.
As part of a press kit released by Warner Bros. today, we’ve got a full cast listing and the good people at Comicbookmovie.com were kind enough to post it, we’ve got it embedded down below.
It goes without saying, there are some spoilers down below, so read the list at your own discretion.
As you can see, we’ve got all the main stars in there. We’ve also got confirmation that Scott Eastwood’s character is one named Lieutenant GQ Edwards, who we’re not sure who that is, but we’ve also got Ezra Miller reprising his role as The Flash! This will presumably be a flash-back, no pun intended, to Suicide Squad member Captain Boomerang, played by Jai Courney. Our guess is it’s when he’s captured. Why is this our guess? Because Captain Boomerang is originally a Flash villain, unlike almost all of the other squad members, who are mostly comprised of Batman villains.
Speaking of Batman, Ben Affleck is resoundingly absent from this cast list which leads us to believe we never actually interact with Batman except for him fighting, which can all be done with a stunt double.
