These violent delights will return to our screens sooner rather than later. On Tuesday, HBO released an official teaser for Season 4 of Westworld, a premiere date and news of a recurring guest star.

The Emmy-winning sci-fi series makes its triumphant return with an eight-episode fourth outing, featuring Evan Rachel Wood, Emmy winner Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul and Angela Sarafyan.

Here’s the logline for Season 4 per Warner Media:

A dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.

As for the recurring guest star, Deadline reports Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) will partake in all the science fiction exploits. Not only that, but we’ve got a first-look image of DeBose!

The teaser opens with Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day.” However, in the universe of Westworld, we know it’s anything but. We see shots of each of the main characters, with the action seemingly split between the dystopia of New York and the theme park. Expect lots of cryptic imagery, some dancing in the streets, a horde of flies, people staring at otherworldly sci-fi scenery and an immersive experience that’ll leave you questioning what you just watched.

Then, we get a gorgeously backlit shot of the Man in Black, apparently back in the saddle again.

If there’s one thing Westworld excels at, it’s weaving deeply profound existentialism into a story riddled with WTF visuals while stringing together a narrative akin to your last acid trip.

You can take a peek at the first-look photo of Ariana DeBose and watch the heady teaser below. It might not look like anything to Dolores, but it looks like Westworld will return for Season 4 on Sunday, June 26, at 9 pm, on HBO and HBO Max.
