What if Wes Anderson directed an X-Men film? You’ve always wanted this, you just didn’t know it.
This fan film perfectly envisions what the cinematic auteur’s take would look like, from the deadpan, emotionally unavailable personality of each character to the rack focus shots and epic use of slow motion. They even have such Wes Anderson tropes as weak punches to the face and smarmy douchebag antagonists. And, of course, the exciting stuff happening in the background that everyone ignores.
But they also have a lot of fun with the X-Men, peppering in jokes like, “Welcome to the X-Men, hope you survive the experience” and “E is for Extinction.” And Wolverine is the Art Teacher… how perfect is that?
