Mobile Game Monday: WELCOME TO CLASHAMANIA

Cassie Holguin

In ClashaMania, WWE wrestlers styled as Clash of Clan characters face off in the arena.

Greetings, friends, and welcome to Mobile Game Monday, where we chat about games you can play on the go. If you like gaming on a phone or tablet, this is the place for you. Join us every week as we go on all sorts of adventures.

WrestleMania 41 takes place this weekend in Vegas, where the undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defends his title against John Cena. Although it is true that one cannot see John Cena, what fans also did not see coming was the longtime “babyface” wrestler turning heel. After Cena surprised everyone by allying with The Rock at the Elimination Chamber, everyone is waiting to see what’s to come for John Cena’s “final” match.

All of the drama from this season has WWE fans pretty riled up and Clash of Clans has capitalized on the excitement with an impressive collaboration. The 2012 real-time strategy game from Supercell has been adding various WWE content all month long, from new events to familiar WWE faces. Clash of Clans was one of the very first games featured on Mobile Game Monday so we are long overdue for a revisit. Plus, as a wrestling fan, I could not resist this spectacular event.

Welcome to ClashaMania

I am such a sucker for skins and this event is no exception. A couple of my favorites include the Darkness Warden (The Undertaker) skin for the hero and Prince Mysterio (Rey Mysterio) skin. The barbarian king transforms into wrestling royalty with the King Cody (Cody Rhodes) skin, while the archer queen gets a goth makeover courtesy of the Brutality Queen (Rhea Ripley) skin. Last but not least, the royal champion becomes The RoyalEST (Bianca Belair). All skins will set you back $9.99 each.

One of the most stone-cold stunning offerings this season is the ClashaMania Scenery. Available in the shop for $6.99, this scenery transforms your village into a packed wrestling arena. I absolutely love the surprisingly cool mix of CoC music with rock. Fans of both franchises will recognize this unique blend of two iconic music styles.

Friends or Foes

This event isn’t all about the Benjamins, you can earn rewards by playing in the Friend or Foe event. End the reign of Overlord Rhodes by attacking army camps that have been replaced with wrestling rings. Attacking blue camps produces enemy troops that will join your crew, whereas red camps produce more enemies. Destroying certain buildings will reward event tickets, which you can use to get rewards like awesome limited-time troops.

First is The Giant Giant (who looks a lot like Andre the Giant) rages out with increased speed and damage after losing half of his max health. Next is K.A.N.E. who any wrestling fan knows is not easily defeated and his CoC equivalent is no exception. K.A.N.E. is reborn in flames when defeated with increased damage and a fiery aura. Finally, The Disarmer (Becky Lynch) has boosted speed and damage for the first twenty seconds. She also needs to be defeated three times to be out making her as resilient as the real Becky Lynch.

Our Adventure Ends Here

Overall, Clash of Clans had a lot to offer from the beginning. Over the years, Supercell has continued to add new things like heroes, pets, and more to keep veteran players interested while still attracting newbies. This WWE collaboration is just one of the many examples of why so many players stay loyal to CoC. It certainly was enough to reignite my love for this classic mobile game and get me pretty hyped for the battle this weekend. Whether you are a wrestling fan or not, this event is a ton of fun and has so much to offer. Get in on the action before the new season begins next month.
