Welcome to Tavern Talk Thursday! We are expanding. What started as a column dedicated to chatting with members of the TTRPG community is growing to talk about all things TTRPG and board games. We aim to continue sharing everything we love about the community and all the content within. So, consider this a little peek into our favorite worlds and creators as we explore everything we love.
We love it when two of our favorite things come together. Of course, we are more than a little excited about the upcoming partnership between WEBTOON Entertainment and the streaming platform Dropout. We know this will be an incredible collaboration between the two groups involved.
So, here is everything we know so far. The partnership between Dropout and WEBTOON centers around Dropout’s incredibly popular Dimension 20 show. Brennan Lee Mulligan hosts the live-action TTRPG show, which blends high fantasy with ’80s teen classics. It’s a cult phenomenon that has touched the hearts of thousands of viewers with its incredible stories, drama and humor.

Dimension 20 Meets WEBTOON
Do you know what it sounds a lot like? The making of an incredible WEBTOON series. And the collaboration is bringing exactly that—a new fantasy series titled Fantasy High. It follows a band of misfit teens navigating the high-stakes drama of high school mixed with a magical world. Things take a real turn when students at the school start to go missing, sinister plots are uncovered, and it’s on this ragtag group of kids to save the day.
It’s not a shock that Dimension 20 and WEBTOON would blend incredibly well. One of our favorite parts of TTRPGs is the ability to tell stories alongside other players. Brennan Lee Mulligan has been able to create a place for his players to feel comfortable fully diving into the role-playing and story, and it has given us unforgettable moments. Fantasy High will be a great bridge series for fans of WEBTOONs who want to dip their toes into the TTRPG world but are unsure how they feel.

Readers will become hooked on the series. Then, binge Dimension 20. Followed by finding a local place to play and then spending their hard-earned money on minis and dice. It’s a beautiful turn of events. We don’t have long to wait; Fantasy High hits the platform in the spring of 2025 with 61 episodes. Overall, we are hopeful that with enough love and traction, the series will get a second season and bring more TTRPG fantasy series to the platform.
