Fellow WEBTOON readers, get ready because a big series is heading back to the highly popular comic platform. Today, WEBTOON and Archie Comics announced that their hit collaboration Archie Comics: Big Ethel Energy, will return. In 2022, the series earned a Ringo Award nomination for Best Webcomic, reached over 22 million views and 385,000 subscribers and a successful graphic novel launch.
Writer Keryl Brown Ahmed and artist Siobhan Keenan worked together alongside Archie Comics to bring Big Ethel Energy to life. The series follows Ethel years after her time at Riverdale high. She is now a strong, confident adult who speaks the truth to power as a journalist. Ethel left the mean streets of Riverdale behind, but the chance at a pretty big chunk of change in return for writing the town’s history as her returning to her roots.

The second season of Big Ethel Energy sees Ethel letting go of the past. She’s learned a lot in during her time in Riverdale and is ready to give love a shot with Moose Mason. But will miscommunication, doubt and their meddlesome friends cause them to fall apart? Or will it make them stronger than ever? As fans of the original run of Archie Comics, this is a must-read WEBTOON series for us. Getting the chance to explore how the group has grown over the years is terrific. And Ethel is an incredible character to have front and center.

Ethel is our fearless leader, and season 3 continues her journey, navigating the tricky waters of balancing a job that can be more political than she expected, a new relationship and the ups and downs that brings, and understanding the evolution of her friendships and her place in her hometown of Riverdale.”
