Weapons
There’s something wrong in Maybrook — just ask Justine Gandy (Julia Garner). Filmmaker Zach Cregger, whose last film, Barbarian, garnered critical and audience acclaim, has his next project in the chamber. Weapons, the follow-up to the aforementioned 2022 movie, brings together an all-star ensemble cast to tell a chilling tale about the disappearance of school students in a small town called Maybrook.

Warner Bros. doesn’t have an official synopsis, but the logline on the poster aptly summarizes what we can expect:
“Last night, at 2:17 AM, every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark … and they never came back.” It’s also described as “an interrelated, multi-story horror epic.”
The Cast and Crew
In addition to Garner, Weapons stars Josh Brolin, Benedict Wong, June Diane Raphael, Toby Huss, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams and Amy Madigan. Zach Cregger directs from his own script.

The teaser does precisely what a teaser should do: It doesn’t give away the entire film. Instead, it effectively builds from the core premise — a small town reeling in the aftermath of mass disappearances — to a fever pitch of fast-paced, gory imagery. Weapons looks positively terrifying.
Weapons will scare its way into theaters on August 8, 2025. Before you go, check out the official trailer below.
