Every day is a good day for book news. And it is made even better today since it’s about Wattpad Webtoon Studios! Variety dropped exclusive news that they will be adapting two more series for the screen. The studio saw a lot of success with Netflix’s Through My Window, which was written for Wattpad under A través de ventana by author and influencer Ariana Godoy. The next two projects will also feature Spanish works including Alex Mírez‘s Perfectos Mentirosos and then Flor M. Salvador‘s Boulevard.
Perfectos Mentirosos and Boulevard will be Wattpad Webtoon Studios’ first Spanish-language projects to be entirely self-fianced. They have tapped José Miquel Núñez, Anna Grajales and Paola Mazlum for Mírez’s adaptation and then Javier Ruecas to pen the script for Flor. M Salvador’s. Aron Levitz, Lindsey Weems Ramey, Taylor Grant, and Carla Zeller of Wattpad Webtoon Studios will produce both films.

Perfectos Mentiroso follows Jude as she arrives at one of the most elite universities. She quickly learns that everything there revolves around parties, gossip and hookups. Salvador’s Blouevard comes with a much smaller description, but one that really packs a punch. It simply reads, “Luke and Hasley were not the prototype of a perfect couple. However, both put a definition to what they created.” Both stories are massive hits in the YA Spanish category on Wattpad, with over 180 million readers combined.
