You might have already heard the exciting news that The Leftovers showrunner Damon Lindelof is bringing a Watchmen series to HBO. And, you might, like me, be anxiously awaiting any news regarding this new series based on the Alan Moore graphic novel. Well, we’ve got some. Lindelof has tapped director Nicole Kassell to direct the pilot episode!

Lindelof is keeping it in the family by hiring Kassell. She directed two episodes of The Leftovers (“No Room at the Innand “It’s a Matt Matt Matt Matt World). Kassell is also an HBO favorite, as she’s also directed episodes of Westworld and Vinyl. This, according to Deadline. She’s an award winning director, having won CACAE award at Cannes, Jury Prize at the Deauville Film Festival, and the Satyajit Ray Award at the London Film Festival. Those were all for her first feature film, The Woodsman.

Nicole Kassel is kind of a big deal, and this is kind of a big deal job.  I, for one, will be watching the Watchmen.
