“That’s what I do. I drink and I know things” ~Tyrion
This past weekend in Hollywood, HBO held a premiere party for the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones. The red carpet event showed off all the stars of the hit series. HBO didn’t forget about the regular folks like us who didn’t get to go to the fancy screening and released a new trailer and it is nothing short of epic.

This is the first season six trailer where we get to see several plot lines that will play out in the upcoming season. The trailer is intense! Helping the intensity along is a soundtrack of soldiers preparing for war. I like this much better than what seems to be the fad right now with movies and television shows where you hear a slowed down song, usually a cover by a lovely and dark female voice. This time around, the music gets your blood pumping and your gut wrenching.
So, here’s what we see!
- Davos and Ghost protecting Jon Snow’s body
- Jamie having no f*cks to give when talking to the High Sparrow
- Dragon!
- Jaqen H’ghar schooling blind Arya and saying, “A girl has been given a second chance. There will not be a third.”
- Jorah Mormont hiding his greyscale that is moving up his arm
- Walder Frey is back!
- Burning stacks in front of Winterfell
- A smirking Ramsey Bolton – man, he is just the worst!
- Cersei is back – “Show them what Lannisters are, what we do to our enemies.”
- Holy Crow!!! The Night’s King and his army. Then we see Davos say, “Make no mistake. The dead are coming.”
- Sam and Gilly on a ship
- Yara Greyjoy is back
- Ayra becoming a fighting BAMF
- Intermittently, we see scenes of the huge battle that will take place this season
- Brienne, Podrick and Tully banners
- More Dragon!
- Tyrion coming face to hot face with one of Daenerys’ captive dragons
Sit down, prepare yourself and enjoy!
Game of Thrones, Season 6 premieres on HBO April 24th.
