There will be two memorial concerts this weekend in honor of David Bowie. Both shows will have many notable artists and the proceeds of the two shows will benefit music education. Michael Stipe will make a rare appearance on both nights. Artists include Stipe, Blondie, Pixies, Mumford and Sons, The Roots, Polyphonic Spree, Perry Ferrell and many more.
Last night Stipe appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and, accompanied by only a pianist, performed a captivating and heart-tugging rendition of David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold the World. He’ll possibly perform this for the memorial concerts. In return to a small donation to a music education charity, you can stream the concerts live at MusicOfDavidBowie.com.
Have a look at the video and let the tears flow.
