Paramount finally released the first trailer for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and it looks like much the same as the first one.  So if you enjoyed the first one, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one.

Based on the 18th book in the Jack Reacher series, by Lee Child, which sees Jack (Tom Cruise) return to the headquarters of his old unit to find the head of his former unit (Cobie Smulders) is missing, he is being charged with a crime committed nearly 20 years prior, and he may have a daughter.

I enjoyed the first one, with no knowledge of the source material, I thought it was a fun action movie.  I’m curious as to the decision to make a movie based on the 18th book in a (currently) 21 book series.  The series is still going and shows no sign of slowing so I guess Paramount is picking and choosing which stories they think will market best as movies.  Ok, I can get behind that, it’s similar to what Paramount did with the Jack Ryan Tom Clancy novels.  I do miss those Jack Ryan movies, not going to lie.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back hits theaters on October 21, 2016.

Directed by Edward Zwick.

Written by Lee Child, Marshall Herskovitz.

Starring Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge.
