Well, wow.

As soon as we published that last article on the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol.2 poster saying that we’re not sure when to expect our first trailer, director James Gunn posted this little teaser trailer on his facebook.

In it, we hear the familiar “Ooga Chaka” from their first trailer, but in the background, as if our memories are recalling all the fun we had with that first film. We see Gamora (Zoe Saldana) walking through some wooded area before we see her prepping for battle on some platform wielding a kick ass energy sword before leaping into battle, and then we see Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) standing in what looks like some alien storm drain — guns drawn like a total bad ass.

Oh, and that scene of Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Yondu (Michael Rooker) walking down the catwalk as it rains Ravagers all around them? That scene was shown at San Diego Comic Con earlier this year. It’s them escaping from their captors, the mutinous Ravagers, with Yondu whistling his arrow up and down the corridor and killing all the dudes.

It also seems, at least in this trailer, that there is a possible budding romance between Star-Lord and Gamora. The trailer features the two of them the most and features a quick moment, at the end, of Drax telling Star-Lord that there are two types of people in the universe — those who dance, and those who do not. Star-Lord answers with, of course, he is the dancer, Gamora is not, which immediately leads one to believe that some level of romantic interest is being expressed by Star-Lord for the most dangerous woman in the galaxy. And, it seems, the feelings are most certainly not reciprocated.

And, of course, it ends with Drax (Dave Bautista) saying, “You’re Welcome,” as if he was quoting the first poster from their first movie. Well, that’s the last dialogue we hear, the absolute last thing we see is, of course, Rocket shooting a hole through a wall with a happy, mischievous smirk on his face, with baby Groot (Vin Diesel) standing on his shoulders, eliciting a tiny, curious squeak.
