Not only is Warrior Nun coming back after cancellation, but fans have three movies to look forward to! Read on to find out what we know so far about the upcoming projects.
After Netflix canceled Warrior Nun in December 2022, fans immediately launched a #SaveWarriorNun campaign. Their efforts were rewarded this June when showrunner Simon Barry tweeted that the show would return. Although the original announcement didn’t include any details, Barry shared a link to a website, WarriorNunSaved.com, soon after. Until now, the site only had a mysterious countdown and the option to sign up for exclusive updates.

This week, however, the show’s producer Dean English used the site to announce Warrior Nun’s return. He thanked the fans for their energy and loyalty before sharing the news: “I am very happy to announce that Warrior Nun is coming back as a trilogy of motion pictures. Once again, a trilogy of feature films. Three.” English went on to add that, due to the ongoing Hollywood writers and actors strikes, he can’t confirm which writers or actors are involved with the movies but said more details would come in the future.
Warrior Nun follows a 19-year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. Soon, she discovers she’s part of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, tasked with fighting demons on Earth. The show stars Alba Baptista as Ava, the titular warrior nun, alongside Kristina Tonteri-Young and Lorena Andrea, among others.
