The CW has their version of The Flash, but the DC Cinematic Universe is just getting started on their version. They’ve already got actor Ezra Miller and Dope director Rick Famuyiwa signed on to the film, but there are still villains and allies to find.

According to Variety, just today, Famuyiwa is after Dope star, Kiersey Clemons for the female lead. There’s no official word on just who the lead female role is, but as the site reports, though “details are still vague on who the character may be, insiders say it is likely to be Iris West, the tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen.”

In the comics, Iris and Barry eventually get married.

On the CW version of The Flash, Iris West is played by Candice Patton where we’ve seen the romantic tension between her and Barry Allen go back and forth. Should the DCEU Flash include an Iris West, it’s more than likely the romance will be in place by the end of the film, or at the very least starting to spin up.
