On this week’s Saturday Morning Webtoons, we are skipping over the Canvas side of the app. Kicking things off is Elijah Joseph and Omar Hanno’s Wand for Hire. The fantasy-comedy series follows Tara, a freelancing wizard. We get to watch her take on oddball jobs, deal with over-the-top clients and explain that freelancing doesn’t equal free work. No matter what happens, Tara is in for a magical misadventure that will shake up her everyday life.

We have read a lot of relatable WEBTOON series in our time, but Wand for Hire takes the cake. Tara is like every freelancer: overworked, underpaid and stressed out. But through it all, she manages to live a pretty exciting life. There is never a dull moment in this series, and the relatability provides the “I feel seen” feeling we all know and love. It’s got great bite-sized chapters that make a perfect treat after a stressful day.

Wand for Hire updates on Fridays. Readers can find it on the official WEBTOON Canvas page.

Mythed Up

Our second series this week is Maccus Norman’s Mythed Up. In this supernatural slice-of-life series, the barrier between the modern world and the supernatural hasn’t existed for hundreds of years. So, no one seems phased when a supernatural being is running the local convenience store or a group of supernatural kids are playing on the playground. But there is one thing about their world that is precisely ours: people are still going to people.

Mythed Up is another series that gives us a relatable feeling while feeling like a whole other world. The series follows quite a few different characters, so it feels like we get the chance to explore multiple aspects of the world while also getting to see how everything intertwines. This story features mature tones both comedic and on the series side. However, it flows smoothly back and forth. It checks all the boxes in our book and should be on your must-read list.

Mythed Up updates every Wednesday. Readers can find it on the official WEBTOON Canvas page.
