The trailer door opens to reveal Rick (Andrew Lincoln) in his boxers.  Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) strangely takes some pictures of him.  A man sits next to her and is drawing.  He asks what the pictures are for.  Jadis says after…after what? Just after.  They close the door again.

Eugene (Josh McDermitt) confronts Dwight (Austin Amelio) about being the traitor.  He tells Dwight to stop and he will keep his secret.  Dwight gives in and says the Saviors are over. The resources are running low and people will start to get angry.  He tells Eugene that he has seen the bad things that have happened there. Once Eugene does those things, he will become those things.  Eugene says he’s Negan, and it’s not perfect, but they are saving lives. Eugene says he won’t tell anyone that Dwight is the traitor.  As long as anything he does doesn’t harm anyone in the Sanctuary.  Eugene goes to look out at the walkers at the doors.  Laura (Lindsley Register) says they have a day or two before they get in.

Dr. Carson (R. Keith Harris) says Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) has an infection that’s attacking his organs.  They don’t have any meds.  Eugene says it’s his own fault.  Dr. Carson is going to look for herbs. He asks Eugene to watch over him. Gabriel wakes up.  He tells Eugene to sit down.  Eugene helps him get a drink of water.  Gabriel asks if Eugene will help him get Dr. Carson out of there. Eugene says there are too many walkers around the building.  Plus Gabriel knows he’s a coward.  Gabriel ask him to do the right thing.  Eugene says the right thing can be terrifying. Gabriel say to have faith and trust himself.  Eugene says that’s absurd. Gabriel says Eugene is a man of science who didn’t believe the dead could walk.  So maybe now he will know what the right thing to do is, when the time comes.

Morgan (Lennie James) is one of the snipers watching the Sanctuary.  He gets a call that there is a truck approaching. He sees Daryl (Norman Reedus) is driving.

Tanya (Chloe Aktas) comes to Eugene for her boombox. He says it’s not ready because they are in crisis.  She has a bottle of alcohol as payment.  She starts to leave and he stops her.  He says he needs the alcohol to sleep.  Tanya says she needs help to sleep too.  It’s his fault. She and Frankie came to him to change things he didn’t help them.  He helped himself.  She says she hopes it helps and leaves.  Laura is at the door and says Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) wants to see him.

Daryl and Tara (Alanna Masterson) tell Rosita (Christian Serratos) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) their plans. They want to drive the truck into the front of the building, letting walkers in.  Rosita is worried about the workers inside. Daryl says they can get out of the south end.  Michonne says it’s risky.  Tara says they have to do this. They don’t have any more weapons. Morgan shows up and says he and the snipers will help.  He wants this over.

Rosita asks why they won’t wait it out, as planned.  Daryl tells her they don’t have the Kingdom anymore. They don’t have the numbers to make them surrender.  Rosita says that’s why Rick is talking to the Scavengers.  Tara says they lied and she shouldn’t believe them. Rosita says she believes in Rick Grimes.  Tara argues that they can end it now.

Rosita says she’s out and asks Michonne if she’s staying.  Michonne says she started it so she will see it though.  Rosita asks if she really thinks it’s better to act than to wait.  Rosita gets it, she thought the same way. She’s sad that it took Sasha dying to realize that sometimes, all you can do is wait.

Negan says he doesn’t want to see Eugene die.  He knows Eugene is smart. Negan holds out his hand and Eugene tries to kiss it.  He was going for a handshake.  It’s a sign of mutual respect and not many people get that from Negan.  Eugene says he needs to get to work. Eugene goes downstairs and see the coffin that Sasha was in. He has a flashback of Walker Sasha coming out of the coffin.  He opens it up and finds the music player that he gave to her.

Daryl moves the truck closer to the Sanctuary.  Daryl asks Michonne if she up for the mission. She came to see things for herself and to see if things were going to work. She doesn’t get to know that. Things are working now. Maybe they need to Trust in Rick’s plan.  She says it’s not worth risking themselves. Daryl says it is for him.  Michonne says she can’t do it. She leaves.  Tara says they have Morgan and the snipers. They can do this.

Eugene puts the music player on top of a glider.  His plan is to use the music to guide the walkers away from the Sanctuary doors.  He reaches for the play button and someone tells him NOT to turn around.

Tara scopes out the Sanctuary entry.  Morgan says the snipers are ready.  Daryl slowly drives the truck to the entry.

Dwight holds a gun at Eugene and tells him to get away from the glider.  Eugene says he’s saving people.  Killing him is killing a lot of innocent people.  Dwight says Negan will kill Rick, Daryl, and Rosita.  Hes’s working with them to save them and everyone in the Sanctuary.  They can get rid of Negan and Negan only. Eugene says Negan is not the killing type, but he is.  Eugene bends down and turns the glider on.

Daryl drives up to the gate.  Dwight shoots the glider down and disappears.  Tara starts shooting back.  Eugene ducks for cover.  Daryl jumps out of the tuck and puts a cinder block on the gas. The truck crashes into the building.  He and Tara take off.  The walkers are in the Sanctuary.

They walkers are in the lower levels where the workers and families are.  The Saviors start shooting the walkers and moving people up the stairs.  Eugene gets angry.  He says goes to Gabriel and tells him he won’t help him and he won’t feel bad about it.  He says he will survive because it’s in his biology.

Eugene goes to Negan next.  He agrees to start making bullets for him.  Negan asks if Eugene understands that Negan will go after Rick.  He says yes.  Eugene says he has one more thing.  The generals come in and report on the walkers.  Eugene says he can fix the intercom system.  Later, Eugene sits in his room listening to the gun fire.  He starts drinking the alcohol that Tanya gave to him.

The Scavengers take Rick out of his trailer.  They bring out a walker to bite Rick.  He fights his way out his the hands of the man holding him down.   He fights off the Scavengers who try to subdue him.  Jadis pulls a gun and he is able to fight her off.  He gets her down, next to the walker and tells her it’s over. He’s leaving.  They can either join him or he can come back and they die.

Jadis agrees to let him go and join him.  They agree to give Jadis ¼. Rick tells her to go with him to the Sanctuary and see what he has done. They plan to go in and kill Negan.

When they get to the Sanctuary, Rick finds the place empty.  He calls to the snipers on the walkie and no one answers.  Rick climbs to the lookout station and look at the Sanctuary entrance. The truck is still there and all of the walkers are gone.

Thoughts…

Why Daryl Why?  Ugh!  I get that he wanted to end it ASAP.  We all want it to end. But he didn’t even go in to look for Negan.  Now the Saviors can get out and attack Alexandria or Hilltop or both!

Something bad is about to happen.  I’m so scared for Michonne and Carl.

And how long does Father Gabriel have before he dies.  He has an internal infection. Where did he get that?  I don’t think it looks good for Gabriel.

The Walking Dead mid season finale is next week.  It’s also 90 minutes.  Ugh…I’m scared!
