World of Warcraft: The War Within
Sound the drums of war; another World of Warcraft expansion is hitting our computers this August. This is Blizzard Entertainment’s 10th expansion for the highly popular MMORPG and brings players into the next arc of the franchise. Get ready to explore the depths of Azeroth in four new expansive zones full of lore, adventures and much more. Of course, the new expansion also means updates to the base game itself, class changes and new dungeons and raids. While we don’t consistently play World of Warcraft, new expansions are always exciting. And this one has held our eye from the moment it was announced.
World of Warcraft: The War Within hits PC via the Battle Net Launcher on August 26, 2024.
Squirrel With A Gun
In Squirrel With A Gun, play as a rascally rodent who will do whatever it takes to escape a top-secret facility and its pesky agents. Use your tiny little squirrel hands to wield an arsenal, including a six-shooter, rocket launcher, and more. Upgrade your weapons for more power and learn special moves for each weapon. Locate other secret bunkers and take down epic bosses with your squirrely skills. Solve puzzles by using your weapons in unique ways to find golden acorns that unlock hidden areas. Explore the world in your toy car, harass the neighborhood or help out the locals for rewards. You can even unlock accessories to be the most stylish squirrel on the block. I may be biased because I love squirrels, but this game looks like some seriously silly fun.
Squirrel With A Gun releases on August 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles
Fellow weebs rejoice: one of the most iconic modern Isakai is getting a video game. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles is being made as a JRPG by powerhouse developer BANDAI NAMCO. The plot will cover previously aired storylines up to the battle against the Kingdom of Falmuth. Plus, two new adventures exclusive to the game from the series’ original author. This is one series that we will never get enough of, so we hope this opens the door to future game collaborations and extended content.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime ISEKAI Chronicles launches on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam for the first time on August 8, 2024.
Dustborn
Our next video game releasing in August isf from developer Red Thread Games. And they are taking players on a road trip of epic proportions with Dustborn. The indie action-adventure title brings together a ragtag crew and sends them on a tour bus with a robot driver to embark on a perilous adventure. In this world, the United States is known as the Divided States of America, and there is nothing about this road trip being safe. But using the power of words to build relationships with your crew and get out of trouble, you might be able to make it to the end alive.
Dustborn releases on August 20, 2024, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Seris X/S.

Star Wars Outlaws
We love stories set in the outer rim. And we are getting to explore the outskirts of the galaxy, which is far, far away, with Star Wars Outlaws. This new title from Ubisoft will be the first open-world Star Wars game. The game takes place between Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. You’ll take over the controls of the Trailblazer as the intergalactic scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. It is a vast, ambitious project, but we are excited to see how they surprise fans who are already so familiar with the world.
Star Wars Outlaws launches for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Ubisoft on August 30, 2024.
Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home
Our final video game releasing in August is Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home. This is an upcoming mobile addition to the Harvest Moon franchise. After living in the city for ten years, a friend has convinced you to return to your hometown of Alba. However, the town needs revitalizing and not all residents are excited about changes from an outsider. They may take some convincing. This game has everything you would expect from a cozy game, including fishing, farming, raising animals and chatting with locals. There is still a lot of mystery surrounding the game. But, if you have played any of the previous Harvest Moon games, you have an idea of what to expect.
Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home releases in August for iOS and Android.
