Lo-fi is such a versatile genre of music that it somehow relaxes me and makes me want to get stuff done. Whether reading, cleaning or trying to doze off, dozens of video game lo-fi remixes on YouTube suit pretty much any taste and task. This lo-fi list for gamers features everything from Skyrim to Animal Crossing.
Elder Scrolls
Every game in The Elder Scrolls series features beautiful music, and there are lo-fi remix videos of them all. Any video featuring music from The Elder Scrolls is my go-to for bedtime. Peaceful dulcimer and ethereal vocals from Skyrim put me at ease (and right to sleep).
This Skyrim-themed lo-fi mix from bits & hits features a pixelated scene of the Dragonborn at a campfire. I could stare at this animation forever; my favorite little detail is the mark of The Dark Brotherhood on the boulder in the foreground.

World Of Warcraft
One more super chill playlist from bits & hits, this time to the tune of World of Warcraft. Journey across Azeroth from Mulgore to Teldrassil with over 30 different lo-fi tracks. Whether you fight for the Alliance or the Horde, this compilation has something for every WoW fan.
When I first started playing World of Warcraft, I remember getting so amped by the menu screen music. So it’s no surprise that I love this playlist, which ironically features a mesmerizing pixelated animation of The Dark Portal. Also, if you haven’t gathered this already, you should check out the entire bits & hits YouTube channel.

Halo
Halo has one of the most epic soundtracks of all time. The horns and drums trigger the adrenaline you need to take on unbeatable odds. Haunting vocals accompanied by mellow strings set an eerie stage for a memorable journey. What could be better than this? Add some jazzy piano and hip-hop lo-fi beats, even remixed dialogue from the game.
This video posted by Halo Adherents features a wallpaper-worthy illustration of Master Chief holding a steaming mug and looking over some notes. I love this mix, and the animated illustration has some cool Halo references. So, load up this channel and kick some Covenant butt, or just get your homework done.

Animal Crossing
Most of the music from Animal Crossing has a lo-fi vibe, so it’s no surprise that there are oodles of Animal Crossing lo-fi videos. Seriously, there are more AC lo-fi channels than weeds on my New Horizons island. The best thing about this list from Chilled Cat is that it features music from older games like New Leaf and City Folk. Some of the newer players may not have even heard these songs, but the OGs will recognize them.
My daughter and I are huge Animal Crossing fans, and we always put this playlist on when we clean together. It motivates us to get started, makes light of the work, and puts us both in a great mood. Plus, we love the cute animation of Tom, Timmy, and Tommy floating in the water, especially in the summertime.

Minecraft
Minecraft is another game with a soundtrack that puts me to sleep. Virtual Conflux has created a brilliant lo-fi remix with a gorgeous animation featuring a lake scene adorned with cherry blossoms. The music even has relaxing nature sounds like birds and thunder mixed in the track.
I typically like to listen to the music from the game when I play, but Minecraft is one exception to this rule. Starting a major building project in Create Mode? Switch out the already awesome Minecraft soundtrack for this lo-fi version, and let the music inspire you.
