Space travel is changing. The NASA is focused on Mars, and private space flight sponsored by billionaires like Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson and Elon Musk is taking off. Vice News has noticed. They’re launching a new live show on Twitter called The New Space Race.

Vice News Editor-in-Chief, Ryan McCarthy said that Vice has been talking to Twitter about a space show for over a year. He cited the fact that there seems to be a lot of interest in the new activity beyond our atmosphere on the internet. According to Deadline, the data shows 25 million tweets related to space and astronomy in the last year alone.

Taylor Wilson, a “twenty-four-year-old nuclear physics prodigy” (at 14 he became the youngest person to produce nuclear fusion) will host The New Space Race. The show’s first season will follow scientists at NASA’s JPL as they prepare for InSight’s Mars landing. Viewers will see interviews with space innovators, segments about space suits and rocket engine tests, and they’ll be able to ask questions… because, you know, Twitter. We’ll see how that goes… because, you know, Twitter.
The New Space Race will air live on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2pm ET, starting October 16th. The 13-episode first season will culminate in a live broadcast of the Mars landing from inside JPL Mission Control.
