Since The Phantom Menace, Vanity Fair has featured covers of upcoming Star Wars saga films. Beautifully shot by Annie Leibovitz, this year we don’t have just one but 4 different covers. The 3 highlight different aspects of the film, with one of them being a dedication to our beloved Princess and General.

Our first cover focuses on Rey and Luke. Clearly on Ahch-To, the duo are pictured in the clothes we last saw them in, except Luke looks to be wearing brown gloves. Neither has the Skywalker lightsaber in hand. Our second cover features The First Order and it’s great. Biggest thing is both Kylo Ren and Phasma are unmasked. That’s right! Our first look at Phasma under the mask. She seems to be wielding a long pike-like weapon with a very stern look on her face. Kylo’s outfit has also differed. No longer is he wearing the hood/scarf combo but now wears a leather-like cape. While we learned his scar had moved, we get a better look at it with seemingly bruising on his cheek. General Hux has some need duds but nothing seems to be too different.

Our third cover is also exciting because we have a better look at Rose! Our new Resistance fighter who ends up on adventures with Finn. Her outfit is fascinating, with all sorts of tools on her belt, as she works in maintenance. Speaking of Finn, he, Poe and BB-8 also share the cover. Finn has acquired a new shirt and pants, holstering a blaster but still wearing Poe’s jacket. Poe has got himself a new jacket looking very debonair. And BB-8 is precious forever and always. Our final cover is General Leia rocking a new outfit. Looking highly regal in a black outfit, I can’t wait to see it in action. Leia will be featured a lot in The Last Jedi and while it’s tragic, we’re looking forward to seeing her final performance in the Star Wars saga. We love you forever, Carrie.
