DISCLAIMER: This recap of the Undone episode “Reflections” has spoilers. Proceed at your peril.
Welcome back, time travelers! We’ve reached the halfway point in Undone Season 2, and sh*t’s officially hitting the fan. “Reflections” is a poignant, profound and thoughtful deep dive into how we sometimes mirror our parents with our behavior and actions. Becca’s time-warping exploration leading to the discovery of Camila’s son is brilliantly executed.
Additionally, it’s great to see Jacob wrestle with his inner demons and confront long-dormant memories. “Reflections” takes twists and turns I didn’t expect, as “Alejandro” led to discoveries. This episode beautifully lays the groundwork for the back half of the season.
Ready to dig deep into “Reflections”? Let’s get to it.

We open with Alma (Rosa Salazar) attempting to wake an unconscious Becca (Angelique Cabral) while sitting outside the bright yellow house. Rosario (Alma Martinez), the woman from the cave, answers the door. She quickly ushers Alma and Becca inside.
Alma discovers that Rosario is an artist. She’s the one who painted that portrait of Camila, going by her last name, Alejandro. She’s Alejandro!
After ignoring multiple phone calls from her father, Alma chats with Jacob (Bob Odenkirk). She reveals Becca may or may not have lost consciousness after utilizing her gifts too many times. Jacob learns they’re in Mexico, and he vows to book a flight to join them promptly.
Rosario discovers Becca’s grappling with pregnancy issues. Alma picks Rosario’s brain, learning the latter is a healer. Rosario also knows Camila very well. Not only that, but Alma’s mother is currently staying with Rosario.
Meanwhile, Becca stirs from a baby crying. She finds a bassinet at the foot of her bed and scoops the mysterious infant up in her arms. Becca answers the door to her father while cradling the child. However, Becca quickly realizes that said child is a figment of her imagination.
Rosario urges Becca to lie down a bit longer; Jacob chastises them for meddling in Camila’s affairs and pushing Becca too far. He prepares to book a flight back to the states that night. While Alma and Jacob argue, Becca picks up the invisible baby again.
Alma and Jacob take their heated conversation outside. Alma gives Jacob a reality check — he’s not happy, and neither is she. Despite the timeline jump, nobody seems genuinely content with life. The only way they can heal is by mining the depths of the past.
Jacob relives the night Camila (Constance Marie) ended their marriage right before he drove himself and Farnaz off the cliff. Jacob fears what he might find. He doesn’t want to dig deeper.
While Becca rocks the fussy baby to sleep, she receives a call from Reed that she quickly ignores. Then, Becca relives a memory of holding a doll as a child while Camila talks on a payphone.
Later, after failing to secure a flight, Jacob notices a memory reopening for him involving Camila. He reluctantly enters the fray.
Rosario confronts Alma about her door — you know, the one that won’t open for her no matter how hard she tries. Rosario asks to see the door, so Alma takes her there amid the fog. After Alma attempts to open it again, Rosario suggests she try doing so quietly. Alma hears a child on the other end but doesn’t venture further.
Meanwhile, Jacob relives the memory of when he first met Camila. Camila works for a touring company, so she gives Jacob a tour. He reveals he’s a professor from San Antonio, and Camila confesses her desire to study in the US. They get a coffee together and chat about life.
Then, that night while they’re stargazing, Jacob kisses Camila.
Next, we see Jacob and Camila driving after visiting his mother, Geraldine. Jacob expresses his gratitude for Camila’s diligent visits, but she should stop if it’s too draining.
Fast forward to Jacob confronting Camila about making a series of collect calls to Mexico — a scene we saw in a previous episode.
After emerging from his prolonged trip down memory lane, Jacob realizes Camila’s hiding something. Jacob tells Alma that she’s kept something under wraps since they met. While he wants to explore, Jacob wonders if his second chance at life hurts more than helps. Alma reassures Jacob that she’s glad he’s here.
Becca wakes to find the baby crying while lying on the floor. She runs toward the child. However, an invisible force impedes her path. It appears to be a mirror, as we see Becca’s reflection on both ends of the hallway.
Suddenly, Becca shatters the glass, and we see a younger Rosario walking away with the infant amid the shards. Becca morphs into Camila, asking what Rosario plans to do with her child. We learn Camila had a baby boy named Alejandro, after Rosario.
Jacob, Alma and Rosario run to Becca’s aid. Rosario reassures Becca that while she sees Camila in her reflection, Becca’s her own person.
Becca informs Alma and Jacob about Camila’s son, Alejandro. Jacob, invigorated, declares they must find her now.

Overall, “Reflections” is Undone at its best — trippy, time-bending sci-fi. I love the exploration of different character dynamics this season. As for Alma’s door, I think there’s something Alma represses behind it. Perhaps her inner child? Regardless, it’s a part of her that needs healing.
What do you think is behind Alma’s door? Will we meet Alejandro? Join me while I recap Undone, only on Geek Girl Authority.
