The new Uncharted movie is in the weeds. Not long ago, the news was that the prequel, starring Tom Holland was going forward. Directors were falling in and out of line to get production rolling… and now, a halt. Sony has pushed their timeline back three months.
The rush to get the ball rolling on Uncharted was due to Tom Holland’s duties as Spider-Man. They were trying to get in under the wire before Holland had to go back to web-shooting. The production has been plagued by entrances and exits by directors, and general timeline problems have been pretty constant.
The fight isn’t over. Deadline reported Friday that Sony continues to make Uncharted a priority, and there’s no talk about abandoning the project. At least, not yet.
Uncharted is now set to be released in theaters in March 5, 2021 from its previous date of December 18, 2020. Worth the wait? What do you think of the news?
