The third season of The Umbrella Academy on Netflix debuts on June 22nd, 2022. Today, star Elliot Page offered us our first look at the upcoming season in a Tweet that introduced Viktor Hargreeves. Please be forewarned that this article includes spoilers for the second season finale of Umbrella Academy.

Meet Viktor Hargreeves

Page came out as transgender on December 1st, 2020, after the second season of Umbrella Academy had been released for streaming in July 2020. During that second season, the Hargreeves kids found themselves stranded in the 1960s. Fortunately, they were able to repair the timeline. Or were they? In the second season finale, they returned to the present, only to find themselves face-to-face with the hitherto unfamiliar Sparrow Academy.

According to Netflix, the Sparrow Academy will prove to be “smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs.” But after immediately clashing with the Umbrella Academy, the Sparrows repeatedly become the least of their problems. Will the Umbrellas return to their pre-apocalypse lives, and is that even something that’s a desirable goal?

It is currently unclear how Viktor will relate to the characters we’ve met over the course of the first two seasons. In part, this is thanks to the fact that the Netflix adaptation has veered fairly far afield of the comic book source material by a creative team that includes Gerard Way and Gabriel , who each also serve as co-executive producers on the series.

It’s worth noting that “the White Violin” is a gender-neutral superhero name, so it’s possible Viktor may be wielding some corn-flattening superpowers when he makes his full debut this summer. We’ll find out more when the third season of Umbrella Academy arrives for streaming on Netflix in June 2022.
