Brellies, we’ve finally found sustenance after what feels like centuries of drought! Thanks to showrunner Steve Blackman, we have the episode titles for Season Three of The Umbrella Academy! From June 7 to June 11, Netflix is hosting Geeked Week, a mini-comic convention of sorts that provides first-look photos, teasers, news and more for your favorite geeky TV shows/films. Of course, everything highlighted is under the umbrella of the massive streaming juggernaut (Get it?).
Now, Blackman joined Geeked Week emcees Rahul Kohli and Mari Takahashi to bestow juicy Season Three morsels to the hungry masses. The biggest news of the day? Every episode title for the highly anticipated third season! Here they are as follows:
“Meet the Family” (S03E01)
“World’s Biggest Ball of Twine” (S03E02)
“Pocket Full of Lightning” (S03E03)
“Kugelblitz” (S03E04)
“Kindest Cut” (S03E05)
“Marigold” (S03E06)
“Auf Wiedersehen” (S03E07)
“Wedding at the End of the World” (S03E08)
“Six Bells” (S03E09)
“Oblivion” (S03E10)

What Does It All Mean?
Firstly, Blackman revealed that “kugelblitz” is a legitimate word. In layman’s terms, “kugelblitz” is a black hole that’s the product of radiation as opposed to matter. As for episode six’s title, “Marigold,” Blackman discloses that The Umbrella Academy has been planting the seeds for this one. Avid fans of the TV show and the comic books by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá might be able to piece it together.
Naturally, brellies took to social media to voice their theories and parse out their vast knowledge to the public. Here, Twitter user @umbrellaacademy reveals that “Marigold is a reference to the energy orbs used to create the siblings (or their superpowers).” Additionally, the season finale episode title has fans in a tizzy. “Oblivion” may be a nod to The Umbrella Academy 3: Hotel Oblivion.
Now, “Hotel Oblivion” is a prison curated by Reginald Hargreeves to house the Academy’s worst opponents. This takes the form of a macabre and twisted hotel. Could the Season Three finale introduce us to Hargreeves’ secret creation?
While Blackman remained tightlipped about the plot of The Umbrella Academy‘s third season, he reassured us that fans will be delighted and surprised by the twists and turns that lie ahead.
Unboxing Time With The Umbrella Academy!
In addition to Blackman’s appearance, Geeked Week dropped an “unboxing” video featuring members of the cast. David Castañeda (Diego), Jordan Claire Robbins (Grace), Britne Oldford (Fei), Ritu Arya (Lila), Jake Epstein (Alphonso), Cazzie David (Jayme) and Génesis Rodríguez (Sloane) unwrapped a series of gifts they received from Netflix. Said gifts included a swanky orange sweatshirt for Geeked Week, a handful of comic books and a viewfinder.
While we still don’t have a concrete release date for Season Three, we can now speculate on the potential direction this new batch of episodes will take. I, for one, will wait with bated breath until we get an official trailer!
The Umbrella Academy stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin Min. Season Three is currently in production.
