New news from History is getting me very excited. Why? Well, it involves on of my favorite subjects (UFO’s), one of my favorite directors (Robert Zemeckis) and one of my favorite genres (historical fiction). It’s a triumvirate of joy, and it’s got me jumping.

History has ordered a 10-episode series currently titled Blue Book which is based on the “real top secret United States Air Force-sponsored investigations into UFO-related phenomena in the 1950s and ’60s known as Project Blue Book.” This according to Variety. Zemeckis is executive-producing the show. There’s no specific word on whether he’ll direct episodes. Fingers crossed! David O’Leary is the creator and writer of the series.
This is so exciting and so intriguing. The prospect of having History, which has done such a stellar job on a show like Vikings, tackle mid-twentieth century UFO investigations is awesome. I imagine it’s a mix of Mad Men, X-Files and Law and Order. Who doesn’t want that?
There are no dates announced for Blue Book. GGA will keep you up to date on any developments.
