Yeah, yeah, I know. We just finished The Walking Dead season eight a few weeks ago. The show has already begun filming season nine and two cast members from season eight have been officially promoted to series regulars, according to skybound.com.
Callan McAuliffe , pictured above plays Alden. Alden became the voice of the Savior prisoners at the Hilltop, advocating for better treatment and trust. Alden often tried to convince Maggie (Lauren Cohan) that he could help her win the war. In the end, Alden requested to become a member of the Hilltop, saying he had Bob the Builder skills. Looks like she finally started trusting him.
Avi Nash who play Siddiq. Siddiq was introduced when Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) befriended the hungry doctor. That chance meeting led to the bite that would eventually take Carl’s life. Siddiq had a hard time fitting in, constantly getting side looks from Rick (Andrew Lincoln). Although, he proved to be a valuable member of the group. Let’s hope Rick warms up to him in season nine.
Both have recently been spotted with Rick and the gang in behind the scene photos from Atlanta that were released last week. JustJared.com posted a lot of photos featuring a new hair cut for Rick. There are a few new faces as well. As expected, Anne, formerly knowns as Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) has joined the group. And Cyndie (Sydney Park) from Oceanside is also among the survivors. The photos show the gang riding on horseback or in carriages and encountering a group of walkers.
The season eight finale set up a possible conflict between Maggie and Rick. No word yet on if that will actually happen this season. Fan specualation is that the tv series is heading into the Whispers story arc from the comic books. There’s also talk of a time jump. Details are being kept under wraps until the episodes air.
