Elton and Percy escaped CRM capture when Silas (Hal Cumpston) sacrificed himself. Now the duo trek through the woods on a horse, hoping to find signs of Iris (Aliyah Royale) and Hope (Alexa Mansour). They find two new people instead.

Siblings Asha (Madelyn Kientz) and Dev (Abubakr Ali) set up camp nearby with a wagon full of food. Elton politely asks for their help while Percy tries to steal as much food as possible. The boys run away from the siblings but get caught by buried empties. Asha and Dev kill the walkers but not before one bites Elton’s arm. They hold him down, ready to chop off his arm but Percy stops them. Elton shows them that he’s not in danger. The tuffy suit is impenetrable. Asha likes the idea of the tuffy suit and takes it from Elton. Afterward, Asha and Dev line up the bodies, replace the eyes with flowers and pray over the dead.

BACK TO DUTY

Huck  is reunited with her boyfriend Dennis (Maximilian Osinski). Something happened before she left for Campus Colony. Dennis was sent to work in sanitation, but only after Huck agreed to the mission for her mother. The way Huck talks, it’s like she saved Dennis from an even worse fate.

Huck also gets accommodation for the mission to Campus Colony and she is authorized to return to active duty. She seems pretty happy but her relationship with Hope and Leo (Joe Holt) is strained. Leo confronts Huck about her mission and makes it clear he wants Iris with him immediately.

Hope continues to scope out the facility while appearing to adjust to her new lifestyle. She takes classes about the decay of the dead. The images in the class presentation bring up memories of her journey to New York. During class, Hope gets into a debate with Mason (Will Meyers), mainly about how to make vodka. Her initial discussion was about the possibility of using yeast to speed up the decay process. The professor is impressed with her innovation. After class, Mason invites Hope to a party, but she declines.

Hope tells her dad about using yeast. He changes the subject to Iris and Felix (Nico Tortorella). Leo is sure that Hope is keeping something from him. She says it doesn’t matter, she knows Iris and Felix are fine and that’s all he needs to know. They both agree that they need a distraction. Hope decides to go to Mason’s party.

REUNION

Asha and Dev tie up Percy and Elton and put them in the wagon. Along the way, they see hazard signs. Dev puts hoods on their heads until they reach their destination. When the wagon stops, Asha removes the hoods and calls Elton by name. He didn’t tell her his name though. Elton sees Iris approach Dev and realizes that they knew who he was all along.

Iris hugs Elton and Percy, happy that Percy is still alive. Asha explains that Indira (Anna Khaja) is their mother. She sent them on a mission to look for the duo and when they found them, the siblings decided to have some fun. Elton looks around and realizes that Hope isn’t there.

Iris fills in Elton about what happened at Omaha and Campus Colony. She also mentions her theory that the CRM is behind the fall of the two communities. Percy believes her, but Elton doesn’t know why they would do that. Percy says the world is a messed up place.

Elton walks around the community and overhears Brody (Lee Spencer) complain about Elton and Percy’s arrival. He’s more concerned about what the CRM will do to them, but Asha and Dev don’t care about the CRM. Asha sees Elton listening at the window.

MAKE IT RIGHT

At first Hope has a good time at the party, finding out more about Mason. He’s been there for three years, studying on computer science. All of the kids there have some kind of special skill and they are learning how to best utilize it for the future. Mason is excited about the possibilities. He’s actually from the Civic Republic.

Hope and Mason play a game of Jenga. When the pieces fall, it triggers more memories of Iris and Felix. Hope goes to Huck’s quarters and requests that they go to the community where Iris and Felix are supposed to be. They don’t know that the two even made it safely. Hope needs to know that they are okay. And neither of them trust Huck enough to talk to her. And Leo is about to stir up trouble for them all if they don’t bring Iris to him.

Dennis and Huck have a dinner date. While Huck gets dressed, she starts thinking about Hope. She puts on her uniform and tells Dennis that she can’t be with him right now. Whatever happened before is too much for her to deal with right now. She asks for his keys and leaves the complex. On her way out, she is stopped by security. Her paperwork checks out but they don’t know that Hope is hiding in the back.

Later Asha explains that their community was built before the world fell. The CRM came along and offered food and supplies in return for protection. They put up hazard signs to keep people from finding the research facility.

Elton asks about the prayer and ceremony for the empties. Asha says some of them believe that the dead are vessels, trapping souls between this world and the next. Killing them releases the souls. The flowers are Asha’s personal touch. Elton also asks for his tuffy suit back, and Asha says maybe.

Iris changes Percy’s bandages and cleans his exit wounds. She thanks him for the art truck that he set up before he left. Iris is very worried about Hope and Silas, but they have a second chance to make it count.

They hear the wind chimes, signaling visitors. Elton from the corner of a house. Iris walks out and immediately recognizes Hope. Percy watches from the window, staring at Huck.
