I’ve got a lot of feelings about this video. The Witcher is coming out next week, December 20th. Netflix thought it would be a good idea to have The Witcher himself, Henry Cavill, read a selection of the story to a camera. The video is just Cavill, a comfy chair, some scotch (I like to believe it’s scotch), and a lot of hard eye contact. A good idea indeed.
Cavill who plays the lead character, monster hunter and witcher, Geralt of Rivia, reads from The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Last Wish is the first of two collections that are set before main Witcher novels. He is reading the passage where we first meet Geralt.
Go ahead, get yourself real cozy and listen. It’s fun. Enjoy the hard eye contact.
On a Continent riddled with evil, the paths of a monster hunter, a sorceress and a runaway princess converge. The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill, arrives December 20, only on Netflix.
Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
