TOM HOLLAND REFUSED TO READ THE CIVIL WAR SCRIPT BEYOND HIS ROLE
 AS SPIDER-MAN

Tom Holland is a true fan of Marvel and the movie-going experience. That is, if we are to believe this interview he gave to EW.com regarding his role in the up-coming film, Captain America: Civil War. And, by the way, we have no reason NOT to believe him — which means, we believe him.

Tom Holland, the actor playing Peter Parker in Civil War and then going on to play it for a trilogy of Spider-Man films for Sony, told the site that “I don’t even know what Civil War is about. I was only working on it for a week or two weeks or something. So they offered for me to read the script, and I said, ‘No, I don’t want to read it, because I’ll be doing all of these interviews and I’ll end up telling secrets and stuff. I’ve got such a big mouth.”

So, in this instance, it’s a practical approach to keeping Marvel’s red laser off of his forehead. Smart. Very smart.

However, he went on to say, “I’m going to watch this film as an audience member, rather than someone who is in it. I’ll be like, ‘I wonder what my bits are about?’”

This being the case, it appears that Holland’s Spider-Man has a marginally small role in the film, more than likely serving to introduce him to the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than actually include him in too much of the plot. We’re more than likely to see a healthy portion of him in battle, but that be handled more through CGI.

We’ve only got to wait until May 6th of 2016 to find out!
