Tell your cluster, the Netflix sensation, Sense8 returns for the series finale on June 8. This should make all Sense8 fans very happy, since they are the reason that Netflix brought the series back.
Netflix experienced a lot of backlash for canceling the series in June of 2017, citing that the show cost too much to make. Fans across the world signed a petition, tweeted the hashtag RenewSense8, and called Netflix headquarters. Within a month, Netflix announced they were bringing back the series to wrap up the story in a two-hour series finale.
Sense8 follows a cluster of sensates; people from around the world who share a birthday and a telepathic link. Their connection leads them on a quest to find out how all of this happened. And of course, there’s danger lurking. A secret organization is out to find the cluster and destroy it. At the same time, the Sense8 cluster finds out that they aren’t the only cluster in existence. The second season ended on a cliffhanger as the cluster finally, physically meets face to face to save one of their own.
Sense8 stars Toby Onwumere, Tina Desai, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, Brian J. Smith and Max Riemelt as the cluster. Lana Wachowski, Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski created the show. The Wachowskis have expressed an interest in continuing the series, even revealing that they have written a season three.
I, for one am happy that we are going to get some closure. The cliffhanger ending of season two left fans begging to find out what happens next. Netflix made the right move by bringing the show back for one last episode.
The final episode titled, “Together Til the End,” will run 151 minutes. Here is the synopsis:
Personal lives are pushed aside as the cluster, their sidekicks, and some unexpected allies band together for a rescue mission and BPO take-down in order to protect the future of all Sensates.
