Welcome to this week’s installment of F2P Friday, where we highlight our favorite Free-2-Play games. Sometimes, hidden gems fall through the cracks. This is where we dig for you and feature a new F2P game we know you will enjoy every week. Today, we play Tiny Kingdom, a strategy terrain builder with deck-pulling mechanics.
Tiny Kingdom
Embark on a whimsical journey in Tiny Kingdom, where your story begins on a quaint farm and evolves into a magnificent kingdom. This enchanting card-based city-builder invites you to shape your realm, one card at a time, on a serene island canvas. Immerse yourself in a cozy, cute medieval world where every decision matters and every card promises new adventures.

The Basics
Let’s get down to the basics. Tiny Kingdom is a strategic card game with unique terrain and hand management mechanics from creator neltile. The gameplay is cozy yet challenging with a trial and error learning system that takes several rounds of play to learn. Even without a formal tutorial, the natural pace of the gradual difficulty spike makes the gameplay intuitive to pick up.
Don’t be afraid to try your ideas out as you learn the game. Uncovering strategic gameplay moves will reward you for your creative thinking with huge bonuses. The controls are fluid but it does require a mouse to play. I found the game difficult to play with just a trackpad because it limits rotating the islands unless you want to try out the unofficial “no-rotate” challenge.

Why Should I Play?
So why should you play Tiny Kingdom? This game is an amazing blend of strategic card and puzzle mechanics over a terrain/city-builder that scratches my brain. I love the limited knowledge aspect that encourages players to discover the gameplay style that works best for them. I love the cozy color pallet and pixilated art style that gives the game a relaxing atmosphere.
Ready to mold your island to meet your vision? You can build your own Tiny Kingdom, one card draw at a time, for free on Itch.io through your web browser.
