Tiny Epic Vikings is the latest game in the Tiny Epic board game series, designed by Scott Almes and published by Gamelyn Games. In Tiny Epic Vikings 1-4 players are trying to impress three different gods by acquiring the gods’ favored ruins. The game plays over three eras. Players draft cards and use them to perform actions. Players will sail their boats to the various islands on the map, trying to control them and gain their runes. They are also trying to gain ruins from cards by battling. As players vie for control of ruins, the fury track of the respective gods will increase during the game. At the end of the game, players will score points for ruins they have acquired according to the fury of the gods.

In Tiny Epic Vikings: Ragnarok, players get new islands to explore. Ragnarok also introduces Giants that control the islands and weaken the gods’ fury. Players will be able to add Valkyries and Giant Slayers to help them fight against the Giants. Ragnarok also adds six new gods for players to impress, increasing the game’s decision space and variability.

I got my hands on the Deluxe edition of the base game (and the Ragnarok expansion) and unboxed both of them. Want to see what’s inside these brand new boxes?
