Timeless has made enough news in the wake of its second cancellation that you’d think *someone* would try to rescue it. The show’s passionate fans created a ton of buzz at Comic-Con with a campaign to save the show, and it looks like it’s paid off — kind of.

NBC and Sony Pictures Television have made a deal to bring back the Time Team for a two-hour finale movie, slated to air during this year’s holiday season.

Executive Producers Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke said in a joint statement: “While we wish we could’ve made another dozen seasons of Timeless, this is the next best thing. We’re thrilled to take the Lifeboat out for one last spin and bring closure to our story. The studio, network, cast and crew are all doing this for one reason only: the fans. Because they deserve it. Because the fans made this happen and we thank them for their passion, support and helicopters. So? You guys want to get Rufus back or what?”

NBC says the entire cast (Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey and Claudia Doumit) will appear in the finale, which Ryan and Kripke say will give us “one final emotional story for the Time Team.”

Spencer jumped on Instagram to share her excitement about the news, spilling her coffee all over herself while Back Street Boying it up.

What do you think, Clock Blockers? Can we get a season three after the finale movie and make Timeless the most rescued show in history?
