The first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is here. The High Table has put a 14 million dollar hit on John Wick (Keanu Reeves) and it appears all of New York City is trying to collect. Frank Sinatra sets the mood with “The Impossible Dream” as John tries to survive the first few hours of his excommunicado.
The third installment of the John Wick series picks up right where the second left off. Continental Hotel owner Winston (Ian McShane) set the wheels in motion and the price on John’s head. He gave John one hour before all of NYC starts hunting him.
From what we see in the trailer, John approaches Anjelica Huston’s character to arrange passage before his hour is up. Unfortunate for John, she cannot help him. John tries to escape the city on foot, car, motorcycle and horseback. He defends himself with guns, swords and books.
With everyone on his trail, it’s amazing to see that John does in fact escape. John takes one item with him. A photo of him with his deceased wife Helen. John goes to the desert to find the only person he thinks can help. Sophia (Halle Berry). From there, it appears Sophia jumps into the action, along with her dogs, to help John get his life back.

For anyone wondering, yes, John’s dog is with him for part of his journey. We see the dog running with John in the beginning of the trailer. The dog disappears after his meeting with Huston. Maybe the Continental concierge Charon (Lance Reddick) took the dog in. As expected there is a lot of action and some well choreographed fight scenes. It looks to me that John is trying to go back to the city. He tells Sophia they are going in to just have a conversation. And we know how John’s conversations turn out.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum stars Reeves, Berry, McShane, Huston, Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Mantzoukas, Robin Lord Taylor, Asia Kate Dillon, and Mark Dacascos. The film is written by Derek Kolstad and directed by Chad Stahelski.
