It’s hard to imagine two eras more disparate than Georgian England and the Mali Empire (circa 14th century) but Time Bandits takes us to both with their newest episodes, “Georgian,” and “Mansa Musa.” While they are hard-pressed to find anything truly valuable to pillage at the Earl of Sandwich’s (Mark Gatiss) soiree, Mansa Musa’s caravan is the jackpot.

Meanwhile, Kevin’s (Kal-El Tuck) sister, Saffron (Keira Thompson), has been surviving as only she can as she tracks Kevin and the bandits through history. However, the trail goes cold –REALLY COLD — when she lands in the Ice Age where Kevin didn’t actually interact with anyone. Will Kevin save his parents only to lose his sister?

Time Bandits‘s “Georgian”
Another attempt to get Kevin home lands the bandits in the right country but the wrong century as well as quite a distance off from modern-day Bingley. Otherwise, it’s a prime arrival achievement as they are starving and a lavish party means good eats. They don’t lack for entertainment either with the one and only Casanova (Alex Gibson-Giorgio) in attendance as well as the players of the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
This, of course, is Alto’s (Tadhg Murphy) dream, a chance to hobnob with professional performers in an actual theatre. Will he forsake the life of banditry for the stage?

As per usual, Kevin’s knowledge of history and its characters comes in handy at the same time as it causes problems. The curious cultural mannerisms and understood social expectations of the Georgian era prove confounding to our intrepid adventurers, leading to their most dangerous encounter yet!

Time Bandits‘s “Mansa Musa”
How does a crack team of time-traveling thieves behave when they meet the richest man in history? Yeah, like that. The high number of sword-carrying guards will temper some of the most blatant criminality but Penelope (Lisa Kudrow) does demonstrate some unexpected athleticism in the moment.

With Pure Evil’s (Jemaine Clement) demon huntress Fianna (Rachel House) closing in on the bandits, Kevin’s quest to save his parents can’t gain any traction. Will Widgit (Roger Jean Nsengiyumva) figure out the map’s secrets in time? Can Bittelig (Rune Temte) dream up a new vision for the team? When will Judy (Charlyne Yi) get the chance to demonstrate her leadership abilities? With everything going on, they may discover in the end the greatest treasure is actually… Well, y’know.
