Word around the geeky water cooler is the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Thor: Love and Thunder. Comicbook.com released a interview with Vin Diesel where he mentions the Guardians will appear in Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) next chapter.
Diesel was promoting his new film Bloodshot when he was asked about the next installment of GotG. “I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took The Suicide Squad so he’s about to embark on it. Thor will also, the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.” That’s when Diesel realized he may have spilled the beans. “That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”
How much fun would that be? The Guardians are ridiculous anyway. Pair them up with director Taika Waititi and we’re in for some shenanigans for sure. This comes after the movie schedule for the Guardians was put on hold so Gunn could finish Suicide Squad 2. GotG was supposed to be released before Thor 4.
The last time we saw Thor and the Guaridans, they were leaving Earth to search for Gamora (Zoe Saldana). And there was some confusion as to who the captain of the ship is…of course it’s Star Lord (Chris Pratt)…right?
Diesel went on to talk about what kind of Groot we’ll be seeing next. Groot was just a teenager during Avengers: Endgame. Diesel only said one word to describe the next level of Groot: Alpha. Hmmm…I wonder what that means.
I don’t expect to see much of Alpha Groot and the Guardians because Thor 4 is supposed to focus on Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). But I have no doubt their appearance will be memorable.
Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on November 2, 2021.
