This week’s Doctor Who episode ‘The Pyramid At The End Of The Earth’ has been edited out of respect for the victims of Monday night’s terror attack in Manchester.

This is the second episode of ‘The Monk Trilogy’ in which The Doctor investigates a 5,000-year-old pyramid where the Sinister Monks have taken up residence, which has appeared in the middle of a war zone between the Chinese, Russian, and American armies. Radio Times stated today that in this episode there is passing references to terrorism as part of a more general discussion of threats to Earth. BBC One will air the edited version, with this omission, Saturday, May 27th.

The BBC previously altered an episode of Doctor Who due to real-life tragedy, re-editing the 2014 story ‘Robot of Sherwood’ when elements of the story echoed real-life atrocities committed by Islamic State.

Several changes have been made to the TV schedules this week. The Anna Friel drama ‘Broken’ has pushed its premiere a week, the general election campaigning in the UK has been postponed, and Ariana Grande has suspended her tour due to this horrible tragedy.

Monday night, 22 people, including children, lost their lives due to a suicide bomber. If you wish to donate, here are a couple of options:

  1. There are several GoFundMe campaigns
  2. JustGiving is in partnership with the British Red Cross
