Filming for Netflix’s The Witcher season three is in full swing. They recently dropped a quick photo showing off Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra‘s return to set. Today they announced four new cast members joining the top-rated fantasy series. This includes Robbie Amell, Meng’er Zhang, Hugh Skinner and Christelle Elwin. On top of the announcement, they gave us some insight into what roles they will be playing too!

Amell will be taking on the role of Gallatin, a born fighter and leader of an army of guerrilla Scoia’tael fighting for Nilfgaard. Gallatin isn’t afraid to speak the truth and extremely loyal to his people. His course will put him up against Francesca (Mecia Simson) in a battle for power. Zhang’s character’s name is Milva. She is a human who was adopted by the dryads of Brokilon Forest. She is a fierce and talented huntress with excellent archery skills with an aptitude for survival. Those who find themselves crossing her do so at their own peril.

Skinner will portray the royal playboy and younger brother to King Vizimir (Ed Birch), Prince Radovid. In season three, he suddenly finds himself on the inside of the Redanian Intelligence. Surprisingly his good looks and drunken charm helps him survive and it’s all games until someone gets hurt. Finally, Elwin will be playing Mistle, a member of a gang of misfits known as The Rats. Unlike Robin Hood, they steal from the rich and keep it for themselves. Mistle is on a mission of revenge that leads her into a chance encounter that will change everything.

Netflix shared that The Witcher season three will see Geralt (Cavill), Ciri (Allan) and Yennefer (Chalotra) return to Aretuza to protect themselves and learn more about Ciri’s powers. But what they don’t expect is to walk right into the middle of a war with them at the center. The series has done a fantastic job expanding the story past the central characters in the first two seasons. With the addition of this cast, it looks like we will be seeing more of what is happening in the world outside of Aretuza.

Season three of The Witcher doesn’t have a release date yet. But with filming underway, we are sure more news will be coming out over the next few months. Be sure to check back here! What do you think of this casting? Let us know in the comments below and on social media!
