The Wheel of Time Season 3 Starts With a Bang 

It’s a showdown between good and evil — at least in the first 11 minutes of The Wheel of Time Season 3. Prime Video has shared the opening scene of the highly anticipated upcoming season. The sneak peek is now available at the end of Reacher Season 3 Episode 3 as part of its triple-episode premiere. You can also check it out under the “Extras” section on the show’s page for Season 3. 

In the opening scene, we get confirmation that the Black Ajah is most certainly real. They’ve sworn themselves as Darkfriends to the Dark One, turning on their sisters of the White Tower. What transpires next is a vicious, bloody battle that tears the Aes Sedai asunder and propels the overarching Season 3 narrative.

Synopsis

Here’s a Season 3 synopsis per Amazon Studios: 

“Season 3’s storylines are primarily based on the fan-favorite fourth book of [Robert] Jordan’s series, The Shadow Rising. In addition to Tar Valon, the season will take viewers to many new regions and cities across the fictional continent of the Westlands, including the vast deserts of the Aiel Waste, the intoxicating and dangerous port city of Tanchico, and the forbidden and fog-shrouded ancient city of Rhuidean.”

The Cast and Crew

The season stars Rosamund Pike as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran, Josha Stradowski as Rand al’Thor, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon, Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand and Sophie Okonedo as Siuan Sanche.

We also have Kate Fleetwood as Liandrin Guirale, Natasha O’Keeffe as Lanfear, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, Kae Alexander as Min Farshaw, Priyanka Bose as Alanna Mosvani, Taylor Napier as Maksim, Hammed Animashaun as Loial and Meera Syal as Verin Mathwin.

Rounding out the cast is Jennifer Cheon Garcia as Leane, Johann Myers as Padan Fain, Jay Duffy as Dain Bornhald, Laia Costa as Moghedien, Isabella Bucceri as Faile Bashere, Olivia Williams as Queen Morgase Trakand and Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan.

Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Hemlock Grove) has adapted the series for television and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Pike is also an executive producer.
