The Walking Dead has put the stars of the show in some intense situations. In the first look at season ten, Michonne (Danai Gurira) finds herself in a hot environment. Check out the photo below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
This will be Gurira’s final season on TWD. But the Queen of Alexandria isn’t going down without a fight. The image shows Michonne battling walkers with fire in the background. I’m not sure what caused the fire but showrunner Angela Kang explains they are playing with natural elements this next season. Kang told EW, “…fire is one of those elements that comes into play in a few key ways that twist the story in a way that will be pretty exciting.”
This is an interesting twist. The show featured a tornado in season five. And the survivors had to deal with snow last season. Kang states that while fires are dangerous, there are different repercussions in the apocalyptic world with limited resources.
Gurira will join Kang at San Diego Comic Con on the TWD panel on Friday with co-stars, producers, creator Robert Kirkman and Chief Content Officer of TWD universe, Scott M. Gimple. Fans are expecting the first trailer from season ten and hopefully some announcements about the Rick Grimes’ (Andrew Lincoln) movies…hopefully. The Walking Dead will return to AMC in Fall 2019.
