Recently, The CW announced they had cast a new vigilante for Star City, with Rick Gonzalez playing the comic book character, Wild Dog in the fifth season of their hit series, Arrow. But it looks as if Wild Dog will not be alone as Deadline has now reported that Josh Segarra (Chicago P.D., Trainwreck) is joining the cast as Adrian Chase, a.k.a. The Vigilante.
The character is described in the article as, “Star City’s new district attorney and an ally of Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who aims to clean up the streets through the legal system.”
However, if you know his story from the comics, then you know that’s not where it ends for Chase, who goes on to become a vigilante after his family is killed in a mob hit. In fact, he’s not just a vigilante, but he takes on the moniker of THE Vigilante.
While this backstory is quickly highlighted by Deadline, it is done so within the framework of the comic history, not as an announcement for the show. That is to say, Chase has not been announced as becoming The Vigilante on Arrow just yet, which means that we will most likely witness his evolution into that darker character over the course of the season.
