Yesterday we had some fabulous news come out from the streaming giant. According to THR, Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy has earned a second season! We’re all about to be schooled.
Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin Min have all signed on for sequel. Mary J. Blige had a “one-year deal” with the series so it’s unclear if she’ll play as large a part as she did in the debut season. To that I say bring Cha-Cha back! It’s also unclear if Cameron Britton will make a reappearance as Hazel but I think many of us are crossing our fingers for his return. Additional casting will be “announced later” so we’ll have to see from the casting where they’re taking the story.
Apparently the series garnered “warm reviews” but many of us here at Geek Girl Authority loved it so we’re looking forward to more. Without revealing too much, it will be interesting to see how the events of season one tie into the second season. Will some of the same events occur or will it be a completely different story? There’s so many possibilities! We’ll have to wait and see. I’m just really looking forward to more Klaus antics. Also seeing more of Five and his life.
Are you looking forward to a second season of The Umbrella Academy? Let us know! Be sure to come back to Geek Girl Authority for more comic adaptation news. It’s currently unknown when the second season will debut.
