Godzilla: King of the Monsters

There’s no doubt about it. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the Godzilla movie that we deserve! If the trailer is any indication, Godzilla fans are in more than a few epic battles, with monsters the fans have been demanding for decades.

We got a glimpse of the movie at San Diego Comic Con back in July. From that teaser trailer, we knew the Titans were waking up and ready to take back the Earth. Fans have been screaming for classic kaijus like Mothra, Rodan, and the three headed King Ghidorah. The new trailer features a lot of footage of all three Titans as well as the returning Monarch. The destruction is massive, leaving one to wonder what kind of world will be left after the Titans are through with each other.

Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Charles Dance, and Ken Watanabe star in this epic MonsterVerse sequel. They are charged with deciding how to keep humanity safe. One person even suggests that Godzilla will be the humans’ pet. Watanabe’s character corrects them saying, humanity is Godzilla’s pet. That leads me to believe that Brown’s character develops a special connection to the kaiju, so he will fight for humanity’s survival. The crazy thing is, the monsters are not only battling Godzilla for supremacy, they are also battling each other. And by the looks of things, humanity’s armed forces are backing the king. Who’s excited? I definitely am! Check out the trailer and new promo poster below.

Synopsis:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
