Today, a new Captain Marvel featurette dropped. In the behind the scenes look, we get to learn just how excited Brie Larson is to be playing Carol Danvers and what the character means to her. We also hear a bit from one of the directors and co-star about how great Brie is. Frankly, there’s just a lot to get hyped for.

“My whole life has accumlated to this moment,” Larson says with deep conviction. That’s because she’s able to play this powerful character who is unlike anything she’s ever done before. However, it’s not all about power. Larson continues that there was a lot of material to work with in the story that she was able to make it personal for her. This character is hers now, but she has a lot of work do to in order to bring justice to the character. Additionally she notes that it’s “very surreal” to get suited up. She realizes that the suit represents ‘strong will’ and it’s summed up that “she refuses to give up on herself.” That’s what we want to hear.

With all the marketing happening for the film, it’s becoming increasingly harder to stay calm. This film is going to be yet another mile-stone in the continued journey that is female superheroines on the big screen. While Wonder Woman is leading the charge in this era, Captain Marvel seems to be the right follow-up. Soon, we’ll all see if this film will be everything it’s been promising and more. I’m very much here for the new era of girl power.
