Peacemaker is expanding its roster! According to VarietyThe Suicide Squad spinoff has added four more actors to its ever-growing cast. So, who else is joining John Cena for the HBO Max series?

Christopher HeyerdahlChukwudi IwujiAnnie Chang and Lochlyn Munro. It should be noted that Iwuji will be a series regular, while Chang, Munro and Heyerdahl will serve as recurring guest stars.

Cena will be portraying the titular role. Previously announced cast members include Danielle BrooksSteve AgeeRobert PatrickJennifer Holland and Chris Conrad

James Gunn is writing and directing Peacemaker as he did for The Suicide Squad. The show will delve into the origins of Peacemaker, “a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.” Production for Peacemaker is scheduled for early next year.

Additionally, Variety reports that not much is known about these new characters beyond their names. Heyerdahl will play Captain Locke, Iwuji will portray Clemson Murn, Chang will play Detective Sophie Song and Munro will portray Larry Fitzgibbon. Fun fact: Gunn inserts a character named Fitzgibbon into every script he writes in homage to one of his friends.

We did learn from Variety that Munro’s Fitzgibbon is described as “a wry and kind character who is Detective Song’s partner and friend.”

You may recognize Munro from The CW’s Riverdale. Chang is most known for her work on Shades of Blue. Iwuji recently appeared in Ava DuVernay‘s limited series When They See Us. Heyerdahl is well known among the sci-fi circuit, but his most notable appearance is in 2019’s Togo starring Willem Dafoe

I’m so excited to see what Gunn has in store for us. So far, he hasn’t let me down. I’ve no doubt he can lend a hand in revitalizing the DCEU, especially with The Suicide Squad
