Star Wars: The Force Awakens has introduced us to an inspiration of a character in Rey, played to perfection by actress, Daisy Ridley. She is strong, vulnerable, funny and loyal. Rey can take care of herself and has the capability to figure stuff out on her own, ya know like most women. And if this is something that bothers you, because I’ve heard plenty of negativity around the fact that it isn’t believable that she’s as powerful as she is, let’s grab a coffee and I’ll argue ’til the cows come home. Because being a woman myself and knowing lots of women, I can assure you that they are as capable and powerful as the fictional character we see on the screen. I would say that Rey is one of the first heroes that is an actual complete representation of my gender.
Which brings me to the other half of Rey. Stuntwoman, Chloe Bruce. She’s a bad ass and is Daisy Ridley’s stunt double for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You have also seen her as Zoe Saldana’s stunt double in Guardians Of The Galaxy, Thor, Harry Potter, Kick Ass 2, World War Z and Pirates Of The Caribbean 4.
Here are just a few of her accomplishments:
WKA World Champion | WKA British Champion | WKA European Champion | WAKO British Champion | French Open Champion | Irish Open Champion |
US Open Champion | Charlie Lee Nationals Grand Champion | Ocean States Champion | Swiss Open Champion | Quebec Open Champion | New England Open Champion
GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER (Most amount of kicks in 1 minute)
She also has a feature in the most recent Vogue to talk about Bojutsu that you can read here.
Go to her Youtube channel, it’s definitely has inspired to get me out of this chair and go move my butt!
