The Shape of Water is getting people talking. After it’s debut at film festivals with an explosion of positive reviews, the film is becoming the film to watch this year. With a brand new trailer, everyone who hasn’t seen it gets a glimpse further into the mystery and beauty of the film.
The trailer lulls us into a sense of wonder as we see our protagonist on her way to work while innocent music plays. We’re introduced further to where she works – OCCAM Aerospace Research Center. A military organization who has “the asset”, or rather the ‘monster’ living in the water. We’re given more of the plot in learning that Russians want the asset and the military plans on giving it to them, but he’s lost.
Our protagonist played by Sally Hawkins has taken him out of the facility to enjoy the world with him. How much of that world, we don’t know as we mostly see him inside a house. We’re then taken on a darker turn as the pressure Michael Shannon‘s character feels is being unleashed on those who he thinks (and rightly so) are responsible. It’s a matter of life or death for the creature and the clock is ticking.

I’m so excited for this movie and this trailer just furthered it. We also got a better look at the creature with multiple shots of him. We even get a glimpse of the creature’s more sinister side and that can only mean trouble for those in his way. He’s such a mystery and frankly, I could talk about it all day but you need to see it for yourself! In addition to a new trailer, we also have a poster showing the more loving side of the film. The light and dark go hand in hand.
