While Arrow may be closing its doors, a new door has opened. During the events of Elseworlds, our heroes ran into the protector of Gotham City – only they weren’t expecting what they got. They ran into Kate Kane (Ruby Rose), also known as Batwoman, and her own series has been ordered. That’s right everyone, it’s official – we’re getting a Batwoman TV series!

Announced today, a teaser for the series, key art and logo were shared with fans to present the news. The teaser shows Kane standing on the GCPD building, overlooking the city she’s sworn to protect. A Bat signal remains unlit as her cape flutters in the wind. She turns to the camera before we learn that the show is “Coming Soon”. The key art and logo shows a red Bat symbol that was first introduced in the Arrowverse crossover event, only this time the show’s name is blazoned across it in silver lettering. It’s simple and effective.

“Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope,” the official synopsis reads. The Bat family tends to house some broken people and Kane is definitely no different. It will be interesting to see how the show handles her demons and portrays them on screen.

Check out the teaser and key art below and let us know what you think. Are you excited for Batwoman? Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new show. It is currently unknown when the series will debut.
